This cultural project attempts to:

1. Compile, document and depict the beginnings and development of the community of Chilean political refugees in northern California.

2. Acknowledge our own cultural, political and social contributions the surrounding LatinAmerican communities.

3. Pay tribute and recognition to individuals and/or North American organizations that supported our community during its gestation period.

5. Transform this project into a reference, reflection and educational tool for younger generations of Chileans that were either born or grew up in California.

6. Make this project part of the catalog & reference documentation, "Chilean Memory", being compiled by Chile's Direction of Libraries, Archives & Museums (DIBAM)
